About This Soundtrack
Directed by Vanessa Caswill and distributed by Universal Pictures, Reminders of Him is the 2026 major motion picture adaptation of Colleen Hoover's emotional romantic drama novel. The film stars Maika Monroe as Kenna Rowan, a mother fighting for forgiveness and the right to meet her young daughter after serving five years in prison following a heartbreaking tragedy. Alongside Monroe, Tyriq Withers co-stars as Ledger Ward, an essential figure who becomes torn between loyalty to his past and his growing affection for Kenna.
The musical tapestry of Reminders of Him plays a vital emotional role, anchored by a poignant original score composed by Tom Howe (Ted Lasso, Shrinking, Daisy Jones & The Six). Howe's delicate piano themes, subtle acoustic guitars, and stirring string arrangements mirror Kenna's internal turmoil and yearning for maternal connection amidst small-town isolation. Complementing the orchestral score is a curated selection of contemporary folk, indie ballads, and heartfelt country songs, including musical contributions honoring co-star Lainey Wilson.

About the Movie
Based on Colleen Hoover's deeply emotional 2022 bestselling novel, Reminders of Him follows Kenna Rowan (Maika Monroe), a young woman who returns to her small Wyoming hometown after serving five years in prison for a tragic, fatal car accident that took the life of her first love, Scotty (Rudy Pankow).
Desperate to prove her redemption and claim a place in the life of her four-year-old daughter, Diem, who is being raised by Scotty's grieving parents, Kenna discovers that everyone in town has shut the door on her. The sole person willing to offer a fragile sliver of grace is Ledger Ward (Tyriq Withers), a local bar owner and Scotty's former best friend.
As a cautious understanding between Kenna and Ledger turns into an intense, forbidden romance, both must navigate grief, unforgiving judgment, and the painful path toward healing. Directed by Vanessa Caswill and written by Colleen Hoover alongside Lauren Levine, the Universal Pictures drama also features Lauren Graham, Bradley Whitford, and country star Lainey Wilson in her film debut.
