Coldplay

Coldplay is an English rock band formed in London in 1996. The band consists of vocalist and pianist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, drummer Will Champion, and creative director Phil Harvey. They achieved worldwide fame with the release of the song 'Yellow' in 2000, followed by their debut album Parachutes (2000), which was nominated for the Mercury Prize. Their second album, A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002), won multiple Grammy Awards and was released to critical acclaim, featuring hits like 'Clocks' and 'The Scientist.'

Over the decades, Coldplay has evolved their sound, transitioning from emotional indie rock and post-Britpop roots to stadium-filling electropop and synth-pop on albums like Mylo Xyloto (2011), A Head Full of Dreams (2015), and Music of the Spheres (2021). They are known for their massive, immersive live performances featuring interactive LED wristbands (Xylobands) and their focus on environmental sustainability. Coldplay has sold over 100 million albums worldwide, making them one of the best-selling music acts of all time, and their songs have been featured in major films and television series, including Wedding Crashers, Maxton Hall, and My Oxford Year.
