About the Composer(s)
Stephanie Economou is a Grammy Award-winning American composer and violinist based in Los Angeles, celebrated for her highly versatile, atmospheric, and emotionally resonant scores that span film, television, and video games. A graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music and UCLA, Economou made history in 2023 by winning the first-ever Grammy Award for Best Score Soundtrack for Video Games and Other Interactive Media for her work on Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök.
Having spent years working alongside renowned composer Harry Gregson-Williams, Economou has established a stellar solo career, composing the scores for Netflix's superhero drama Jupiter's Legacy, Lionsgate's comedy About My Father, and DreamWorks Animation's Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken. For Chris Mundy and Damon Lindelof's 2026 DCU noir-thriller series Lanterns, Economou crafted a dark, suspenseful, and texture-rich score. She blends gritty, acoustic-electric strings, ambient electronic drones, and heavy brass elements to evoke the heartland-noir detective tone of the investigation led by Hal Jordan and John Stewart.

About the Show
Part of James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Universe (DCU) Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, the HBO original detective-noir series Lanterns follows seasoned, cynical Green Lantern Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler) and new, ambitious recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre). The two intergalactic lawmen are drawn to the American heartland of Nebraska to investigate a dark, puzzling murder. As they dig deeper into the local mystery, they uncover a terrifying, far-reaching conspiracy that ties directly into the larger cosmic mythology of the DC Universe.
Developed by showrunner Chris Mundy (Ozark) alongside co-writers Damon Lindelof (Watchmen, Lost) and Tom King (Mister Miracle), the high-stakes series trades typical superhero action for a gritty, suspenseful murder mystery akin to True Detective. The show features a dark, atmospheric orchestral and electronic score by Grammy-winning composer Stephanie Economou, paired with a moody, alternative trailer soundtrack featuring artists like Nine Inch Nails ('Beside You In Time') and Drop the Lime ('State Trooper') that underscores the series' psychological tension and eerie small-town vibe.
