Britney Spears

“I dress the way I want to dress. I don't let people tell me what to do. I just do what feels right.”

Britney Jean Spears, born December 2, 1981, in McComb, Mississippi, is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress. Often referred to as the 'Princess of Pop,' she is credited with influencing the revival of teen pop during the late 1990s and early 2000s. She began her career in television, appearing on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club at age 11 before signing with Jive Records in 1997. Her first two studio albums, ... Baby One More Time (1999) and Oops!... I Did It Again (2000), became global blockbusters, making her the best-selling teenage artist of all time.

Spears adopted a more mature style with her subsequent albums Britney (2001) and In the Zone (2003), featuring hit singles like 'I'm a Slave 4 U' and 'Toxic,' the latter of which won her a Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording. She continued to release chart-topping albums, including the critically acclaimed Blackout (2007) — often called one of the most influential pop albums of all time — Circus (2008), and Femme Fatale (2011). In addition to her music career, Spears starred in the film Crossroads (2002), and her catalog of hits has been featured in countless movie and television soundtracks, including Bridesmaids, My Oxford Year, and Glee.
